Please be assured that it is our intention to fully respect your right to privacy when using this MFI website.

Information you provide to us when applying included in the Panel of Mediators, which will typically include your name and contact details and details of your relevant educational qualifications and work experience is within your editorial control. It is, of course, in your interest to ensure that this information is regularly refreshed and updated. You will be given a personal Login password which enables you to access the part of the site where your personal information is stored. Please bear in mind that you are responsible for keeping this password confidential and we ask you not to share your password with anyone.

It is our practice to seek your permission to send your personal details logged in this part of the site to Solicitors who have sought our assistance in nominating a mediator. Such information will not be conveyed to Solicitors in this manner without first checking with you as to whether you are conflicted in any way in relation to the potential mediation or dispute resolution process and after you have given your permission for the information to be so conveyed.

Whereas it is intended to develope this site as an interactive and vital forum for the exchange of information and ideas in relation to Civil Mediation, ADR and related matters we wish to provide assurances about our policy in relation to the collection and use of any personal information.

It is not our intention to collect any personal data about you on our site, apart from information which you volunteer when you reqest to be included on the Panel.
Any information which you provide in this way will not be made available to any third parties without your prior consent. It will be treated with the highest standard of security and confidentiality, strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Acts and used by us only in line with the purpose for which you provided it.

Collection and use of technical information

Technical details in connection with visits to our site may be logged by our internet service provider for our statistical purposes. No information will be collected that could be used by us to identify website visitors.
The technical details logged are confined to the following terms:

  • the top-level domain name used (for example .ie, .com, .org, .net)
  • the previous website address from which the visitor reached us, including any search terms used
